Envision Glasses Home Edition is an assistive device for blind and low-vision users, built on Google Glass Enterprise Edition 2 hardware running Envision's own software. Blind Travels found the titanium frame light and comfortable at under 50 grams, and AFB's AccessWorld praised its hands-free operation and wider field of view than a smartphone.
The glasses read text aloud, describe scenes, and identify objects, colors and cash through audio feedback rather than the inherited display. AFB's AccessWorld logged text recognition in more than 60 languages, and TSBVI documented facial recognition for known contacts, plus offline operation alongside Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB-C.
On the question this catalog exists to answer: there is no developer SDK for the Envision Glasses. A separate SDK the company built is for Meta Ray-Ban hardware, an unrelated project, so nobody outside Envision builds apps for this device.
This is not for everyone. AFB's AccessWorld called the $2,499 price high for the category, and both AFB and Blind Travels found most functions need an internet or Wi-Fi connection. TSBVI reported voice commands limited to English, and noted the standard titanium frame does not fit a wearer's own prescription lenses, forcing a separate $399 frame. The official store showed the Home Edition sold out as of September 2026.
Verdict
Blind Travels, AFB's AccessWorld, and TSBVI all praised the hands-free, text-to-speech design built on Google Glass hardware, but AFB flagged the $2,499 price and TSBVI noted English-only voice commands; the platform stays closed, with no SDK for outside developers.
