Notes

  1. 1.Display type. Binocular dual micro-LED engines combined through Even Realities' own 'Even HAO' (Holistic Adaptive Optics) waveguide (over 100 lens coating layers, free-form digitally-surfaced lenses, projector unit 40% smaller and display area 75% larger than the first-generation G1) [OFFICIAL, evenrealities.com/tech and popularmechanics.com review]. Two frame shapes are sold on the same optical platform: Even G2 A (rounded 'Crown Panto') and Even G2 B (rectangular).
  2. 2.Resolution. 640x350 per eye, 60Hz refresh. Not stated on Even Realities' own storefront pages, but confirmed independently by PCMag [pcmag.com, 2026-04-09], the German tech outlet heise.de [heise.de, fetched 2026-09-06, explicitly framed as an upgrade from the G1's 640x200/25deg], Notebookcheck [notebookcheck.com, fetched 2026-09-06], AndroidPolice's hands-on review [androidpolice.com, fetched 2026-09-06], 9to5Google's review [9to5google.com, fetched 2026-09-06], and a Japanese-language Even G2 user manual reproduction [speakerdeck.com/vrshinobi1, fetched 2026-09-06, which also gives 640*350, 60Hz, 27.5 deg, 1200 nits]. Tom's Guide's outlier figure (640x200 at 20Hz) matches the superseded G1 spec per heise.de and is most likely a generation mix-up in that review, not a real alternate G2 spec.
  3. 3.Wi-Fi. No Wi-Fi radio found in any source. Even Realities' own pages never mention Wi-Fi (the glasses pair to a companion phone app over Bluetooth only), and the FCC grant for FCC ID 2BFKR-G2 lists only the 2402-2480MHz (2.4GHz ISM/Bluetooth) band, with no 5GHz/Wi-Fi frequencies declared [fccid.io/2BFKR-G2, filed 2025-11-23].
  4. 4.Bluetooth. 5.4, per Popular Mechanics' review and the unofficial aiglass-compare.com spec page (not stated on Even Realities' own product pages); FCC filing 2BFKR-G2 confirms RF operation in the 2402-2480MHz band, consistent with Bluetooth.
  5. 5.System. Even OS, named directly by Even Realities in its own blog: 'Terminal Mode [...] a new mode within Even OS' [OFFICIAL, evenrealities.com/blogs/even-insider/the-untethered-workstation, fetched 2026-09-06]. This corrects the prior 'no named OS' claim, which was not checked against Even Realities' own blog. Third-party apps are web apps (HTML/CSS/JavaScript or TypeScript, via Vite/React or plain JS) packaged as '.ehpk' files and run through Even Hub on top of Even OS [OFFICIAL, hub.evenrealities.com/docs/get-started/overview]; PCMag and Tom's Guide both describe most AI/assistant processing as offloaded to the paired smartphone rather than run on-glasses.

US$599 for either frame, A or B, on the official store on 2026-09-06. That is the same figure quoted since the launch on 12 November 2025. The R1 ring adds US$249, and no price in CNY or BRL was found.

How the score is built

For

  • PCMag and Trusted Reviews both said the G2 looks and feels like ordinary glasses.
  • PCMag confirmed Even Hub already works as a real third-party app store, unlike the closed G1.
  • WIRED found the display larger and sharper than the G1's, on a comfortable titanium frame.
  • Trusted Reviews and Popular Mechanics both clocked around two days of battery life.
  • Even Realities rates the G2 IP65, a formal rating the G1 never carried.

Against

  • PCMag, Wareable and Popular Mechanics all called the touch controls awkward or poor without the extra R1 ring.
  • WIRED and PCMag both reported unreliable software, from navigation to AI transcription.
  • WIRED, Wareable and Tom's Guide all noted the $249 R1 ring pushes the price higher still.
  • There is still no camera, so nothing here takes a photo or a video.

Even G2 is Even Realities' successor to the G1, sold since November 2025 at $599 in a rounded G2 A or rectangular G2 B frame, both camera-free and running a binocular green micro-LED waveguide at 640x350 per eye, 1200 nits and a 27.5-degree field of view. At 36 grams it is lighter than the 44-gram G1, with four microphones, Bluetooth 5.4 and an IP65 rating the G1 never carried.

PCMag and Trusted Reviews both said it looks and feels like ordinary glasses, and WIRED found the display larger and sharper than the G1's on a comfortable titanium frame. The bigger change is software: Even Hub, Even Realities' developer platform, already works as a real third-party app store built on web technology, something the G1's closed SDK never offered.

Every review from PCMag to Wareable agreed the touch strip is poor on its own, needing the separate $249 R1 ring to control the glasses well, and WIRED reported persistent software instability with navigation that still needs work. Trusted Reviews called the total cost steep once the ring and prescription lenses are added, and WIRED found the display hard to read in bright sunlight.

G2 fits someone who wants a real app platform and battery life near two days, per Trusted Reviews and Popular Mechanics, and is willing to pay $249 more for usable controls. It still has no camera, so it is not for anyone who wants to take a photo.

Verdict

Even G2 is lighter than the G1 it replaces, 36 grams against 44, with a sharper display, IP65, and Even Hub, a working app store the G1 lacked. Three reviews called the touch controls poor without the $249 R1 ring. It suits someone wanting a real app platform, not full control included at $599.
