Dual 1080p Micro-OLED microdisplays (one per eye) viewed through an exclusive 'DSLR-grade' aspherical (ASPH) multi-element optical system, in a suspended/'hanging' open-frame mount rather than a sealed VR-style enclosure [OFFICIAL, goovis.com/products/art, archived 2025-12-22; goovis.eu/products/a1black, fetched 2026-09-06]. GOOVIS markets it as an 'AR Video Glasses' / open-view headset, distinct from its own fully-enclosed VR-style personal-cinema line (G3X, G3X Pro, G3 Max); it has no positional tracking, SLAM, or world-anchored overlays, so the 'AR' label reflects the brand's own marketing term for the see-through open design, not spatial/6DoF AR capability.
- 2.Resolution. 1920x1080 per eye, confirmed by hands-on testing at 60Hz [SMZDM hands-on, post.smzdm.com/p/adm5k0qx/, 2024-02-21]; equivalent to a 110-inch virtual screen at 4,496 PPI and 55 PPD with under 1% distortion per the official spec sheet [OFFICIAL, goovis.com/products/art].
- 3.Video. 1920x1080 @ 60Hz per eye; Side-by-Side (SBS) 3D format supported via a one-click 2D/3D toggle button on the unit [OFFICIAL, goovis.com/products/art; SMZDM hands-on, 2024-02-21]. It does not support Blu-ray 3D or 360° VR panoramic playback, unlike GOOVIS's own G3 Max [SMZDM hands-on, post.smzdm.com/p/adm5k0qx/, 2024-02-21].

GOOVIS Art has no onboard computer or operating system - it is a passive video display that draws power and video signal from whatever it is plugged into via USB-C (DisplayPort Alt Mode) or, with the official HC2.0/HC3.0 adapter, HDMI [OFFICIAL, goovis.com/products/art]. The optional GOOVIS D4H1 media-player accessory (sold separately) does run Android 11 with Google Play preinstalled [OFFICIAL, goovis.com/products/d4-media-player, fetched 2026-09-06].
Launched in China on 2024-01-31 at CNY 2,899, CNY 2,499 for the first batch. Two reviews saw USD 599 in the United States, on 2024-12-07 and 2025-04-06. The GOOVIS store for Europe asked EUR 1,499 on 2026-09-06.

GOOVIS launched the Art in China in January 2024 and international reviews followed from December 2024. TechRadar called it a great asset at 110 g with a plug-and-play setup, and Digital Camera World said the 110-inch virtual screen reshaped how it handled editing and drone-piloting work; both tested the same open, suspended frame that leaves the wearer's peripheral vision free, with no sealed eyecups.
The hardware is two 1080p Micro-OLED panels, one per eye, that Digital Camera World found sharp for a roughly 110-inch screen at typical viewing distance, but not a match for 4K, and it judged the color gamut too narrow for color-critical editing. A dial covers 0 to -3.50 diopters for myopia, and mechanical IPD adjustment spans 58 to 74mm, which TechRadar praised as plentiful.
GOOVIS Art has no computer, camera, battery, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth: it is a passive USB-C or HDMI monitor, so it needs no SDK, but offers no path to build software for it either. TechRadar noted it draws power from whatever it is plugged into, and Digital Camera World needed an extra power bank for HDMI sources. SMZDM also found it drops Blu-ray 3D and falls back to 2D for 360-degree VR video.
At 110 g it undercuts GOOVIS's enclosed headsets, but TechRadar still needed time to adjust to screens it called small-feeling.
Verdict
TechRadar calls the plug-and-play open frame a great asset, and Digital Camera World used the 110-inch screen for editing and drone work, but both found the 1080p panels short of 4K. It suits a portable second screen for gaming or FPV, not colorists who need precise, high-resolution grading.
