How the score is built

For

  • Huawei claims up to 11 hours of music and 9 of calls, from at least 110 mAh per temple.
  • Trusted Reviews called it comfortable and inconspicuous; Huawei lists 36.6 g for the lightest style.
  • Huawei lists Bluetooth 5.3, and SuperFashion paired two devices at once, touch on both temples.
  • Prescription through partners: STEPPER in China, Zeiss at the EU launch, Owndays in Singapore.
  • ZOL reports the temple measures 9.7 mm at its thinnest point.

Against

  • No camera, no display and no on-device store: a third-party app has nowhere to run.
  • No SDK: Wear Engine's docs cover phones and watches, and AI Life is sideloaded off Google Play.
  • SuperFashion, Techgoondu and the SMZDM contributor all find the detail short of earbuds.
  • Trusted Reviews and SuperFashion both heard the open design leak audio to bystanders.
  • Trusted Reviews calls the price hard to justify; China starts at RMB 1,699, lenses extra.

The Eyewear 2 is a pair of audio glasses and nothing more. Huawei's spec page gives Bluetooth 5.3, two microphones, IP54, 36.6 g for the lightest style, a minimum 110 mAh cell per temple and up to 11 hours of music or 9 hours of calls.

For a developer there is nothing here to target. The glasses carry no camera, no display and no on-device app store, so a third-party app has nowhere to run; Huawei's Wear Engine documentation covers phones and watches, not this device class. Everything is configured from the AI Life app on the phone, and SuperFashion notes AI Life is not on Google Play and must be sideloaded from Huawei's site.

The reviewers disagree on one point. SuperFashion says the open design leaks audio to people nearby; Techgoondu, testing the Owndays edition in 2025, calls the leakage minimal for an open design. Both find the detail limited, and Techgoondu adds that there is no noise cancellation and long calls get uncomfortable. Trusted Reviews liked the sound and the runtime but called the charging solution awkward.

Who it is not for: anyone who wants a camera, a heads-up display or headphone-grade sound. The SMZDM contributor says plainly that this is an open-ear Bluetooth headphone at heart. China starts at RMB 1,699, the EU launch on 2023-10-18 was EUR 300 and the Owndays frame in Singapore is SGD 438, prescription charged separately.

Verdict

Audio glasses and nothing else: no camera, no display, no SDK. Trusted Reviews and Techgoondu both liked the comfort and the runtime, and Huawei claims up to 11 hours of music. For someone who wants prescription frames that play music, not for anyone chasing sound quality or a screen.
