Human Capable Inc., in Plantation, Florida, ran a Kickstarter for the Norm Glasses that Kicktraq counted as raising US$591,032 from 1,995 backers, with delivery promised for April 2020. In July 2019 Keith Myers got hands-on with a pre-production prototype and called it an insanely small package: ordinary-looking eyeglasses with a clear, vivid monocular display, working through voice, a touchpad or a companion app.
The glasses Human Capable now sells declare an 8 MP camera recording 1080p video at a 72-degree field of view, a dual-core chip, 1GB of RAM and 32GB of storage on an Android-based system, in a frame under 36 g. The order configurator supports prescriptions from SPH -14.00 to +9.00 and CYL -5.25 to +5.25, with per-eye pupillary distance, for a US$30 add-on.
Myers reported an SDK available for third-party development on his 2019 prototype, but no developer portal or documentation exists on Human Capable's current sites, so sdkOpenness stays UNKNOWN rather than carrying that seven-year-old claim forward.
As of September 2026, normglasses.com still shows a PreOrder button quoting a 4-to-5-month build, not a shipped product, and no source, positive or negative, confirms whether the original 2020 backers ever received their units. Myers also flagged limited storage, a small battery and proprietary POGO-pin charging on the prototype he tried.
Verdict
In a 2019 hands-on, Keith Myers called a pre-production prototype an insanely small package with a clear display, but Human Capable's store still lists the Norm Glasses behind a pre-order button in 2026, quoting a 4-to-5-month build, and no source confirms any of the 1,995 Kickstarter backers ever got a unit.
