LAWK City (+ City Air)

The City is the cheapest way into the LAWK line and the least ambitious. No camera and no display: two open-ear speakers, two MEMS microphones, Bluetooth 5.3 on a BES2500YP audio chip, IPX4 and IP5X, 33 g and 12 hours in the maker's numbers, over the 244 mAh cell in 52audio's teardown. The lighter City Air claims 27 g and 14 hours on 280 mAh, from CNY 999.

Two Chinese outlets tested it and agree on the problem. 52audio, in April 2025, called the build and acoustic privacy above average for the price, then listed no wake word, no continuous conversation, a delay before the AI answers, and flat sound with weak bass. LeiKeJi, in June 2025, praised comfort and finish, then repeated the long press, the slow and overlong replies, a frame too wide for smaller heads, and translation errors. 52audio also weighed 43.3 g on its unit, against the 33 g on the spec sheet.

Developers should read the chip name first: the BES2500YP is a Bluetooth audio part, so there is no application runtime, no APK to sideload, nothing to target. The agent marketplace in the coverage is a catalogue of first-party AI personas, not an API, and no developer channel exists on either LAWK site.

Who it is not for is easy: anyone who wants a screen, a camera or code of their own. It does cover prescription, 1.60 at US$38 and 1.67 blue-light at US$76, over a US$180 Classic frame that showed sold out on 2026-09-06.
