Lenovo Legion Glasses (Gen 1)

This is the 2023 generation, and it is over. Wayback snapshots of Lenovo's page for GY21M72722 show the metadata reading End Of Life with zero inventory on 2026-04-21, the price still at the US$329.99 of the 2023-10-15 launch. The EMEA press release quoted from EUR 499 with tax.

It is the same idea as the second generation, and behind it on brightness, refresh rate and weight: Micro-OLED at 1920x1080 per eye, 60 Hz, 270 nits and 96 g, against up to 120 Hz, 800 nits and 65 g on the Gen 2 by NotebookCheck's comparison. Lenovo never published a field of view for this one, and the figures in circulation run from 38 to 100 degrees.

There is nothing to program. It is a USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode display with no processor, storage, operating system or camera, and Lenovo's press release calls it a wearable virtual monitor without listing software. Every frame is rendered by the connected PC, Legion Go, Steam Deck or phone.

Reviewers liked the picture and the build. Lon.TV found the image sharp for games and film on an 86-inch virtual screen, but says small text renders poorly, the image cannot be repositioned, and the glasses cannot be worn over prescription eyewear: the included frame has to go to an optician. Movies Games and Tech praised the metal build and reports about 2 W of draw, and it and TechRadar both flagged blur at the edges; the USB-C cable does not detach.
