- 1.System. No operating system on board: it pairs over Bluetooth 5.2 with iOS or Android. The phone's native assistants (Siri, Google Assistant, Alexa) work straight through the glasses' Bluetooth headset, with no need for the app. Inside the companion app "Lucyd - Personal AI", the generative AI was ChatGPT-4o only (an upgrade announced in November 2024); from the press release of 20 August 2026 Lucyd also offers Claude and Google Gemini as LLM options in the app. None of that runs on the glasses: all processing happens on the phone.
USD 99 to USD 149 at lucyd.co, checked on September 6, 2026. Moonrise is the USD 99 style and the other three cost USD 149; Darkside is sold out and the Eclipse page returns 404. No Brazilian price found.

For
- Joshua Lowcock paired the Lyte to his iPhone with no app or QR code needed for core audio use.
- Lucyd fits the frame with the wearer's prescription before shipping, which Joshua Lowcock called unique.
- Lucyd claims 12 hours of battery, which TechTracker and Joshua Lowcock both called strong for the category.
- IP56 resistance to splash, sweat and light rain, per Lucyd's own specification.
Against
- How-To Geek and MacSources both called the open-ear audio thin, tinny and lacking bass.
- MacSources and TechTracker both report sound leakage, so calls and audio carry no privacy.
- Lucyd has no SDK: the frame has no onboard OS, and every AI feature runs through the paired phone.
- How-To Geek and MacSources both flagged the proprietary charging cable as an added cost.
- Lucyd's own store lists the Darkside style as sold out and the Eclipse page now returns a 404.
Lucyd Lyte is a camera-free, display-free audio-glasses line in four styles, Millennia, Darkside, Eclipse and Moonrise, at USD 99 to USD 149. Lucyd lists four open-ear speakers, two noise-cancelling mics, Bluetooth 5.2, a 44 g frame, IP56 resistance and 12 hours of battery.
The glasses carry no operating system of their own: paired by Bluetooth, they let a phone's own Siri, Google Assistant or Alexa answer voice commands with no app required, per Joshua Lowcock. Lucyd's own app, Personal AI, adds ChatGPT-4o and, since an August 2026 update, also Claude and Gemini as options.
Four reviews split on the audio: How-To Geek scored it 5/10, calling the sound 'just poor,' and MacSources gave 63%, both blaming thin, tinny output and, per MacSources, leakage at higher volume. Joshua Lowcock and TechTracker praised the 12-hour battery and frames that, per Joshua Lowcock, ship with the wearer's own prescription lens installed, which he called unique among the smart glasses he had tried.
Lucyd publishes no SDK: with no onboard OS, no outside developer can put an app on the frame, and How-To Geek called the ChatGPT tie-in cumbersome rather than useful. Both reviews flagged the proprietary charging cable. Checked at lucyd.co in September 2026, Darkside was sold out and the Eclipse page returned a 404.
Verdict
Four English-language reviews of the Lucyd Lyte all call the open-ear audio a real limit for music and bass, and only Joshua Lowcock found it pairs to a phone's assistant with no app needed and ships with his prescription installed. Lucyd sells no SDK: fine for prescription glasses that also take calls, not for audio quality or a developer platform.
