Meta-Bounds, formally Zhuhai Mojie Technology, is a Chinese optics supplier, not a glasses brand: it builds waveguides, light engines and full reference designs that ship under partner names such as OPPO's Air Glass and Lenovo's AI Glasses V1. Its 38g full-color binocular design pairs a 1.74-refractive-index resin waveguide with a single-chip full-color MicroLED engine, first shown at CES 2025 and refined into a version that won a CES 2026 Innovation Award.
VR陀螺's CES 2026 coverage called the 38g weight a record for a full-color binocular design, and reported that the updated waveguide suppresses the 'rainbow' fringing common to diffractive optics. The same outlet noted a companion announcement of a 12-inch resin wafer process making the waveguide roughly 40% thinner than the prior technique.
None of that reaches a developer, though. Meta-Bounds' 'Open Platform' requires a corporate sample-request form, with a promised reply within five business days, rather than public signup: this is licensed technology for brand partners, not an SDK an independent developer can download.
That also means there is no field of view, brightness, battery, camera or price to judge for a shopper: Meta-Bounds does not sell this design under its own name, and the only coverage found is trade press from CES booths, not an independent hands-on test.
Verdict
Meta-Bounds is an optics supplier, not a retailer: this 38g full-color reference design has no price, no SDK for independent developers, and no spec sheet beyond weight and waveguide type. VR陀螺 called the CES 2026 version a record for lightness in a full-color binocular design.
