Starfire has no screen. Meta's own page and The Next Web record a display of none, so the US$399 buys a 12-megapixel camera with 3K video at 30 fps, six microphones and open-ear speakers, the same core set Geeky Gadgets describes on the Fury and the Adventurer at US$299. What is different is the oval frame designed with Kylie Jenner, an optional Meta AI voice modelled on hers, and a charging case with a mirror inside.

For anyone who wants to write software, the answer is missing. Meta's Wearables Device Access Toolkit publishes the hardware it supports, Ray-Ban Meta Gen 1 and Gen 2, Ray-Ban Meta Optics and Meta Ray-Ban Display, and the Meta Glasses line is not on that list. The toolkit is a developer preview open to selected partners and it exposes camera and audio only, never the Meta AI voice commands. Absence from a list is not a refusal, but no schedule should rest on what no official page promises.

The reviewers who wore it agree on where it stops. Bustle liked the design and still says the hardware in the arms weighs behind the ears, ruling out a full day. Engadget saw live translation get things wrong and speech recognition break down when two people talk at once. Geeky Gadgets is blunter: US$399 against US$299 adds no hardware. There is no official sale in Brazil or China, and Meta's German store listed the Starfire from EUR 419 on 2026-09-05.
