Oakley Meta HSTN

Oakley Meta HSTN is a display-free pair of camera glasses from Meta and Oakley, selling since August 26, 2025 from US$399 (a US$499 gold limited edition shipped first, in July 2025; Brazil opened at R$3,459 on October 11, 2025). A 12MP camera shoots up to 3K video, five microphones and open-ear speakers handle sound, and Meta claims about 8 hours per charge from a 230mAh battery.

Gizmodo credits it with the same camera sensor family as Meta's other glasses, and Kopfhoerer.de scored the open-ear audio 4.13 out of 5, calling it surprisingly clear. Netzwelt found battery life ahead of Meta's earlier glasses and real-time translation working well in daily use.

## Can you build for it Meta's Wearables Device Access Toolkit names the HSTN among supported models, and registration is self-serve: no business partnership needed, only a country where Meta sells its AI glasses. The catch, per Meta's own developer FAQ, is that publishing a finished app to the public is not yet open during this preview.

Computer Bild found photos slightly blurred in the dark, video that shakes despite stabilization, and recording locked to portrait mode, calling the design unfit for daily wear. Netzwelt notes there is no display to preview a shot beforehand, and its IPX4 rating only guards against light splashes, weaker than the IP67 on the sportier Oakley Meta Vanguard.
