Jio JioFrames

JioFrames is a smart-glasses platform Reliance Jio announced on August 29, 2025, pitched as an affordable, India-focused alternative in a market dominated by imported hardware. Over a year later, in this September 2026 research, it remains unreleased: Jio's page only collects sign-ups, with no price, weight, battery life or release date confirmed.

Jio declares a voice-first design built around a 'Hey Jio' assistant powered by Google Gemini, covering more than 12 Indian languages, an HD camera recording 1080p video, open-ear speakers, hands-free calling and livestreaming, real-time translation, and automatic photo and video backup to Jio AI Cloud. Whether the glasses carry any display has not been confirmed either way.

Every independent piece found here reacts to Jio's announcement and demos, not a hands-on test: XROM called the assistant a step toward 'personal superintelligence,' while India.com and TelecomTalk frame Jio's retail network and cloud ecosystem, not the hardware, as the real edge, and neither gives specific numbers.

JioFrames has no published SDK of its own. The only lead is a demo app tied to Jio Tesseract, the Reliance unit that maintains a Mixed Reality SDK for its JioGlass line; no source confirms that kit covers JioFrames. TelecomTalk adds a caution: other Indian smart-glasses ventures have already failed in this category.
