The Sarvam Kaze is Sarvam AI's first hardware, a Wayfarer-style pair of glasses with a built-in camera, microphones and speakers, shown at the India AI Impact Summit in New Delhi in February 2026, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi tried it on. Sarvam pitches on-device voice interaction in more than ten Indian languages, using its own Edge AI models instead of the cloud.

Three pieces stand in for a hands-on test, and all read the launch as a strategy move. Whalesbook highlights the India-trained foundational models as the real difference from English-centric rivals. XROM notes the cameras and microphones sit discreetly in the temples. Business Viewpoint Magazine, writing in September 2026, cites a claimed 3K video capability but says the detailed spec is still unpublished.

Can a developer build an app for it? Nobody can say yet. Sarvam's cofounder has promised a platform for custom experiences, but the company's public documentation, at docs.sarvam.ai, covers only its voice, text and translation APIs and never mentions the Kaze.

This is not a device anyone can buy. Six months after the May 2026 launch window Sarvam targeted, Business Viewpoint Magazine still finds no confirmed price, camera resolution, battery rating or processor. XROM flags a question unanswered: Indian XR startups have a history of rebadging Chinese hardware as their own.
