- 1.Display type. An LCoS microdisplay (硅基液晶) lit by a laser source, projecting into a volume holographic waveguide (体全息PVG, photopolymer volume grating). A single engine (蜻蜓G1 Mini / Dragonfly G1 Mini, developed by Appotronics 光峰科技) feeds an asynchronous image to both eyes ("single-engine dual-eye"), which allows a stereo effect (真3D). The LCoS technology is confirmed by a source dedicated to the G1 Mini (Geekpark) and by a report on the S1 that describes the same system as "LCoS（硅基液晶）微投芯片、激光光源和体全息PVG波导技术" (Sohu, m.sohu.com/a/970813677); that last report gets the resolution and volume figures wrong (it confuses them with the larger original 蜻蜓G1, see notes), but its technology description matches the sources specific to the Mini. The maker (Appotronics, in an official launch slide) states that the optical principle is equivalent to the engine of the Meta Ray-Ban Display.
CNY 3,999 is the price Sharge announced on 2025-12-29 for a third-quarter 2026 sale. A refundable beta reservation cost CNY 999, capped at 10,000 units, and no retail listing was found.

Our review
For
- The front frame weighs under 10 g, and the whole pair comes to 29 g, per Sharge's own figures.
- Sharge claims about 15 hours of battery life with a quick swap design, per launch coverage.
- One laser engine drives both eyes for a stereo effect, and Appotronics claims 5,000 nits.
- Pinecone Research notes the optical engine shrank about 40% in volume from the original Dragonfly G1.
Against
- No developer information of any kind was found, not even the closed ties Sharge lists for the L1.
- As of this research, the S1 is still a refundable 999 CNY beta reservation, not a shipped product.
- Sharge has not disclosed a chipset, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth version for the S1.
- Sharge's own specs list a monochrome green display at just 356x200, not full color.
The Loomos S1 is the display-focused half of Sharge's December 2025 announcement, paired with the camera-focused L1. It is meant to weigh 29 g total, with a front frame under 10 g, and to drive both eyes from a single Appotronics Dragonfly G1 Mini laser engine at 356x200 resolution in green, which Appotronics rates at 5,000 nits.
Coverage from the December 2025 unveiling praised the hardware direction: Pinecone Research pointed to a roughly 40% reduction in optical-engine volume from the earlier Dragonfly G1, and VRAR Planet credited Sharge's quick battery swap and adjustable display angle.
None of that amounts to a hands-on account, though. Every piece found here is announcement-day analysis, and Sharge's own event in Wuhan in August 2026, which did cover the L1 in depth, said nothing new about the S1. Sharge has not disclosed a chipset, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth version, and no source documents any SDK or developer program at all, closed or otherwise.
What exists to buy today is a refundable 999 CNY beta reservation, capped at 10,000 units, with the announced 3,999 CNY retail price still unconfirmed for a third-quarter-2026 shipment. One account, VRAR Planet, adds that Sharge only recently finished refunding buyers of its earlier A1 glasses over Bluetooth and photo complaints, a history the S1's durability promise still has to live down.
Verdict
The Loomos S1 is not yet a product to buy: it suits only someone willing to risk a refundable 999 CNY deposit on a China-only display concept nobody has worn, sight unseen on chipset, connectivity or software. Anyone who wants a device in hand, a disclosed SDK, or a market outside China should wait for an actual shipment.
