TOZO's VIZO line turns a phone, PC or console into a private screen worn on the face. The Z1 Pro, the pricier of two SKUs in the line, is wired: dual Micro-OLED panels claim a 160 inch screen per eye, and New Atlas measured 63 g and a 47.5 degree field of view. TOZO claims 6,000 nits peak; New Atlas says only about 1,500 reach the eye.
There is no development platform: only a Windows driver, built on OpenTrack, that feeds the motion sensor to SteamVR for head tracking, and a separate firmware updater. Neither lets outsiders run their own software on the glasses. GizmoCrowd called it 'a practical everyday screen,' not a platform to build for.
Wear time depends on the host: New Atlas got about 3 hours of video before a phone's battery gave out, since the Z1 Pro carries none. It corrects myopia 0 to 600 degrees per eye, but New Atlas found astigmatism still needs a separate prescription frame. BackingX warned the gap between the funded prototype and a trustworthy shipped unit was still open.
The cheaper VIZO V1 trades SteamVR and 120Hz for a narrower 41 degree view and 1,800 nits at a lower price. Either model is a personal screen for a flight or a desk, not an AR computer: buyers plug in a cable, they do not install an app.
Verdict
The TOZO VIZO Z1 Pro is a wired, 63 g AR viewer, not a computer: New Atlas measured about three hours of runtime before it drained a phone, and found astigmatism still needs a separate lens. TOZO has no SDK, only a Windows SteamVR driver: fine as a plugged-in screen, not for wireless AR or an open platform.
