Notes
- 1.Display type. Vuzix's sheet says see-through waveguide optics with a DLP display type, at 16:9, with see-through contrast above 1000:1, worn on the left or the right eye as you choose.
- 2.Resolution. 854x480 is what Vuzix's sheet calls a WVGA colour display.
- 3.Video. The official sheet claims up to 12.8 megapixel stills and up to 4K at 30 fps, with phase detection autofocus, optical stabilisation, an LED flash and barcode reading.
- 4.Wi-Fi. The official sheet lists Wi-Fi 2.4/5Ghz 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac. There is no mention of Wi-Fi 6.
- 5.Chip. The official sheet writes 8 Core 2.52Ghz Qualcomm XR1, the same chip Vuzix declares for the M400.
- 6.System. Vuzix's support documentation, which covers the M400 and the M4000 on one page, describes the system as a modified version of Android 11.0, updated over the air and manageable by partner MDM.
- 7.Water protection. IP67 is declared for the All Weather kit, together with a safe drop of 1 metre and IEC 60601-1-2:2014 medical device certification. Operating range is minus 20 to 45 degrees Celsius, humidity 0 to 95 percent.
US$2,499.99 was the price of both kits on vuzix.com, read on the product page capture of 11 February 2026. Vuzix took the M4000 out of its own catalogue between 20 April and 6 September 2026, so there is no current price. No public price in China or Brazil.

Our review
For
- Vuzix's spec sheet gives 5,000 nits and 854x480 on a see-through waveguide, in 24-bit colour.
- Vuzix's support docs say the M4000 runs modified Android 11 and takes standard Android APIs.
- The camera is listed at up to 12.8 megapixels and 4K at 30 fps, with autofocus and stabilisation.
- Vuzix lists IP67 on the All Weather Kit, a 1 metre drop rating and IEC60601-1-2 medical certification.
- The internal battery hot swaps external packs, so a swap does not power the device down.
Against
- Vuzix removed the M4000 from its own catalogue between April and September 2026, with no notice found.
- No independent review of the M4000 was found, so every figure here comes from Vuzix.
- Vuzix's own figure for battery life is 2 to 12 hours, and the 12 needs the 4,800 mAh kit pack.
- The last catalogue price was US$2,499.99 for either kit, and there is no current price.
- Vuzix's prescription programme covers other models; here the lens comes from an outside optician.
No independent review of this device has been found as of September 9, 2026. Everything here comes from Vuzix: the product page captured on 11 February 2026, the support documentation still online, and the company's own store today.
The M4000 is the see-through member of the M-Series. Vuzix specifies a waveguide at 854x480, 28 degrees diagonal, 5,000 nits and 24-bit colour, on an 8-core Qualcomm XR1 with 6 GB of RAM, 64 GB of storage and a modified Android 11. The camera is listed at 12.8 megapixels and 4K30.
For a developer the answer is in the support documentation, which says apps for the M400 and the M4000 follow standard Android practice, with Vuzix APIs only for speech and barcode.
What changed is the channel. On 20 April 2026 the M4000 was still on the Vuzix smart glasses page; on 6 September it was gone, and reseller ChannelXR now serves the M400 at that address.
Verdict
No independent review of this device has been found as of September 9, 2026. Vuzix's own product page, archived in February 2026, gives a see-through waveguide at 854x480 and 5,000 nits on Android 11, and the support docs still document it. The M4000 left the Vuzix catalogue between April and September 2026.
