No independent review of this device has been found as of September 6, 2026. XanderGlasses is a standalone captioning device built on Vuzix Shield hardware, which Vuzix's own 2025 press release confirms it has supplied to Xander for over a year. Xander designs it for people with severe to profound hearing loss who need live captions with no phone, internet connection or subscription, unlike cloud-dependent rivals in this same catalog.
The current kit runs a binocular waveguide display with four onboard noise-canceling microphones and an optional two-mic wireless remote for noisy rooms, plus two swappable batteries charged over USB-C. Xander names no SDK, developer program or app store: the companion app only handles setup, not third-party development, and there is no path today to write software for these glasses.
