The Air 2 Pro is the same passive monitor with a filter added. XREAL describes the same pair of Sony 0.55 inch micro OLED panels, 1920x1080 per eye at 46 degrees and up to 500 nits, plus electrochromic dimming, in a frame declared at 75 grams. Trusted Reviews weighed 79 grams on its test unit, without the cable.
The dimming does not change what a developer can do. XREAL's portal offers SDK 3.0 with 6DoF tracking, hand tracking and spatial anchors, and those depend on 3D sensors this model does not carry, so it sits outside that SDK. The nearest path to an app is sideloading an Android APK onto the Beam Pro accessory, at US$199, which XREAL says adds a 3DoF body anchor mode; the glasses only show the result.
The record here holds two full reviews, and they land in different places. Trusted Reviews called the picture clear for films and handheld gaming, then called the fit hit or miss and the feature set thin without an expensive add on, closing with a jack of all trades but a master of none. CNET was warmer and conditional: a great private monitor when combined with the Beam box.
Buying one is now the hard part. The US store showed the new unit sold out on 06/09/2026 with an official refurbished variant at US$199, Amazon listed two entries as unavailable, and XREAL Japan announced the end of sales on 21/04/2026, leaving reseller stock only.
Verdict
The Pro adds electrochromic dimming in three steps, 0, 35 and 100 percent, and nothing else, to the passive USB-C monitor. Trusted Reviews called it a jack of all trades and master of none. The US store showed it sold out on 06/09/2026: it is for whoever finds leftover stock, not for whoever wants to write for it.
