Notes

  1. 1.Display type. A pair of 0.55 inch Sony micro-OLED panels (one per eye), with proprietary Xreal waveguide optics and an X1 spatial chip dedicated to stabilisation and tracking
  2. 2.Resolution. 1920x1080 per eye (1080p, about 4 million pixels in total); there is also an UltraWide mode (menu Laboratory > 21:9 / 32:9 / 16:18) that joins the two screens into a single image of up to 3840x1080 (32:9), provided the host device supports that video aspect. Source: the official tutorial (tutorials.xreal.com) and Notebookcheck.
  3. 3.Wi-Fi. No dedicated Wi-Fi radio; connectivity is only over the USB-C cable (DisplayPort Alt Mode) to the host device; Engadget explicitly describes a 'USB-C wired connection (no wireless)', confirmed by the official store listing (which mentions neither Wi-Fi nor Bluetooth).
  4. 4.Bluetooth. No dedicated Bluetooth radio in the glasses themselves, for the same reason as the wifi field (an entirely wired device over USB-C); see Engadget and the official store listing.
  5. 5.Chip. Xreal X1 (a proprietary spatial chip dedicated to native 3DoF tracking and image stabilisation; described by Xreal as 'The Only Spatial Computing Chip on AR Glasses')
  6. 6.System. No operating system on board, it is a tethered display accessory; all content processing runs on the host device (phone, PC, console) connected over USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode. The X1 chip handles only spatial tracking and stabilisation, not applications. Source: Engadget and AppleInsider, both explicitly describing the absence of 'standalone content processing'.

US$599 in Xreal's US store on 2026-09-06, down from US$649. 9to5Google reported on 2026-04-23 that the cut is permanent. China opened at ¥4,299 on 2025-07-22.

How the score is built

For

  • BGR gave its gold award for a bright micro-OLED image and several usable display modes.
  • Engadget: comfortable for long sessions with laptops, phones, tablets and some gaming devices.
  • Xreal's docs name the One Pro, at 3DoF and 57 degrees, with no NDA or partner gate described.
  • Xreal's tutorial documents an UltraWide mode, up to 3840x1080 if the host takes the ratio.
  • 9to5Google: the US$599 price is a permanent cut, in place since April 2026.

Against

  • AppleInsider gave three of five: it needs a wired host, with no wireless streaming at all.
  • AppleInsider: 6DoF arrives only with the optional US$99 Xreal Eye camera module.
  • Engadget and AppleInsider: 1080p per eye could be sharper, and the frames look bulky.
  • VRX: the Nebula software's availability changes from one operating system to another.
  • The box brings a prescription frame with no lenses; Engadget puts inserts at US$50 and up.

The One Pro is the One with different numbers and better paperwork: 0.55-inch Sony Micro-OLED per eye at 1920x1080, 57 degrees instead of 50, 87 g, the X1 chip again. Notebookcheck separates the 700 nits that reach the eye from the 5,000-nit peak of the panel behind the optics. The US price has been US$599 since April 2026, a permanent cut from US$649 per 9to5Google, and China got it at 4,299 yuan in July 2025.

This is the one to write for. Xreal's documentation names the One Pro, at 3DoF and 57 degrees, and the SDK downloads from its developer site, with no NDA or partner gate. The limits are structural: no camera and no operating system on board, so vision needs the US$99 Xreal Eye and your code runs on the host over USB-C DisplayPort.

The four reviews agree on the compromise. BGR gave its gold award for the image and the display modes, and still called it expensive with weak audio. Engadget liked long sessions on laptops, phones and tablets, then listed the cable, the bulk, the 1080p and no Nintendo Switch 2 support. AppleInsider scored three of five. VRX praised the three-stage dimming and cited about 75 g, against the 87 g most sources give.

Prescriptions are half solved: the box holds a frame without lenses, and Engadget puts the inserts at US$50 and up. And there is no wireless video, so whoever wants street glasses or a cable-free screen is on the wrong device.

Verdict

Against the base One, the Pro is the model with the paperwork: 57 degrees, 700 nits of perceived brightness, 87 g and documentation that names it, which is why we record the SDK as open. BGR called it the best display glasses it had used. It is a private monitor on a cable, not street eyewear or 6DoF in the box.
