Apple's first smart glasses slip to late 2027, Bloomberg reports

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reported on May 31, 2026 that Apple has pushed its first smart glasses to a 'late 2027' release, later than the early-2027 shipping target previously expected, due to development delays. Apple is said to be testing four distinct designs with oval-shaped cameras and multiple frame styles. The first model will be display-less, aimed at competing directly with Meta's Ray-Ban line rather than offering AR overlays.
