Apple is reportedly testing four different smart glasses designs

TechCrunch reported on April 12, 2026 that Apple is testing four separate hardware designs for its planned smart glasses, and may launch with some or all of them. The designs reportedly include distinct oval-shaped camera housings, colors and frame styles as Apple positions its first glasses as a display-less rival to Meta's Ray-Ban Meta line before eventually adding health-tracking and AR features.
