Oakley Meta Vanguard

Oakley Meta Vanguard is Meta and Oakley's sport-focused AI glasses, shipping since October 21, 2025 at US$499 (R$4,299 in Brazil from October 31, 2025). A centered 12MP camera with a 122 degree lens shoots up to 3K video, five microphones and open-ear speakers handle audio, and Meta rates the frame IP67 against water and dust.

Kopfhoerer.de gave it 4 out of 5 stars for its fit and build quality, and UploadVR found it more comfortable in practice than Meta's lighter glasses, due to better weight balance. Runner's World rated the camera and stabilization on par with a smartphone, and Heise and Netzwelt credit real Garmin and Strava integration for pace and heart rate mid-workout.

## Can you build for it Unlike the Oakley Meta HSTN, already supported by Meta's Wearables toolkit, a Meta employee confirmed in a GitHub discussion that the toolkit does not yet work with the Vanguard, with only a vague promise of future support. Third-party access today runs through official integrations like Garmin and Strava, not an open SDK.

Runner's World measured only about 3 hours of real battery with music and video, far under Meta's claimed 9, and found recording shuts off at 15 percent battery. Runner's World and Heise both call live translation weak, and Heise found video recording locked to portrait mode. Neither Runner's World nor Netzwelt found a prescription option; wearers need contact lenses instead.
