Qualcomm unveils smaller Snapdragon AR1+ Gen 1 chip with on-device GenAI for smart glasses

Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon AR1+ Gen 1 chip on June 10, 2025 at the AWE conference, demonstrating what it called a world-first on-glass generative-AI demo running fully on-device. The chip is a smaller, higher-efficiency successor to the original Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 that powers Ray-Ban Meta glasses. Qualcomm VP of XR Ziad Asghar showcased the chip running on TCL RayNeo X3 Pro glasses on stage, and Qualcomm is also supplying silicon for Google and Samsung's Android XR glasses platform and for Lenskart's 'B by Lenskart' smart glasses in India.
