Rokid Glasses

• We installed our own self-signed APK over ADB in 262 ms and it ran on the glasses. There is no signature gate and no store in the way.

• The camera opens in 14 to 16 ms and writes a 1024 by 768 JPEG in about 700 ms. The sensor goes up to 4032 by 3024.

• A YUV preview runs at a real 60 fps at both 640 by 480 and 1280 by 720. You only get 60 if you ask for it: the plain preview template gives 30.

• The four microphones reach an ordinary app as four distinct channels, each with its own energy. The VOICE_RECOGNITION source returns absolute silence, so record from MIC or UNPROCESSED.

• The speaker played 96000 frames on its own, and in a second test the microphone captured 48640 samples while a tone was playing. Capture and playback run at the same time, echo cancellation stays off for a third-party app, and the microphone hears the speaker.

• The glasses reach the internet on their own over Wi-Fi 6 at 5 GHz, with a 344 Mbps link. Three HTTPS sites answered 200 with no phone in the middle.

• There is no cellular radio and no eSIM. The radio layer is switched off in the build and no telephony hardware is present.

• The Rokid text to speech service accepts a bind from an ordinary app and hands back its interface. We did not test which languages it speaks. Three other Rokid services accept the bind and hand back nothing.

• The processor is four Cortex-A55 cores at 1.99 GHz with an Adreno 621, on 1774 MB of RAM flagged as low memory. An app gets 256 MB of heap, or 512 MB with largeHeap.

• There is no NNAPI driver, so inference through it falls back to the CPU. The system itself carries MNN and TFLite models, and your own APK can bring its own runtime.

• A single APK running inside the glasses reaches the camera, the four microphones, the speaker, the display and the internet. The phone is optional.

• One TCP port is open, 8341, held by a root daemon that forwards commands to the TrustZone. It answers the whole local network and we saw no authentication, so do not put these glasses on a network you do not trust.

• The camera went from 44.8 to 45.2 degrees Celsius after 12 seconds of continuous streaming. We did not test a long session.

• ADB lists the glasses as soon as the cable goes in, but the shell only works after the toggle inside the phone app. Before that, commands close the connection instead of returning an error.
