EssilorLuxottica announces plan to reach 10 million annual smart glasses production capacity

In February 2025, EssilorLuxottica announced plans to increase its smart glasses manufacturing capacity to 10 million units annually by the end of 2026, up from a much smaller base, to meet surging demand for the Ray-Ban Meta line. The announcement predated the subsequent acceleration reported later in 2025, when the company said it would hit that 10-million run-rate ahead of schedule and was discussing doubling it to 20 million units with Meta.
