US$659 list, cut to US$599 on aircaps.com/shop on 2026-09-06. The prescription lens option adds US$39. WIRED reviewed the earlier TranscribeGlass on 2025-07-02 at US$377 plus US$20 a month, but that was different hardware.

For

- AirCaps' own store lists free shipping to ten countries, a 15-day return and a one-year warranty.
- The optional Power Capsules accessory extends the claimed 4-to-8-hour battery to about 18 hours.
Against
- AirCaps documents no public SDK: every feature runs through its own closed app and cloud.
- The only independent review found tested the earlier TranscribeGlass hardware, not this one.
- The US$599 price excludes the prescription lens, which costs US$39 more.
- The display only shows text in green: there is no camera and no color image.
AirCaps, once sold as TranscribeGlass, now runs on hardware built with Rokid and a frame designed with Bolon Eyewear: a green MicroLED waveguide display in each eye at 640x480, a 30-degree field of view, and four beamforming microphones. AirCaps' own shop declares translation across more than 60 languages plus AI meeting notes.
There is no path here for outside developers. AirCaps documents no public SDK on either aircaps.com or the still-active transcribeglass.com, and every feature, from captioning to translation, runs through the company's own app and cloud rather than an open platform.
The one independent review found, by WIRED's Boone Ashworth, called the transcription almost eerily good and correctly punctuated with speaker labels, but flagged text that scrolled too fast to read mid-conversation and an image that shimmered visibly to onlookers. That review tested TranscribeGlass's earlier hardware: a 36-gram, camera-less clip-on tethered to a phone, at US$377 plus US$20 a month. Today's AirCaps is a heavier standalone frame at 49 grams and US$599 to US$659, with no independent review of this hardware yet.
At US$599 before a US$39 prescription surcharge, AirCaps suits someone who wants captions and translation without opening a phone screen. It fits poorly for anyone who wants a camera, a color display, or a platform to build a third-party app on.

AirCaps suits someone who wants live captions and translation without checking a phone, at US$599, but not anyone who wants a camera, color display or outside apps: AirCaps ships no public SDK, and the one independent review found tested the older, different TranscribeGlass hardware, not this one.
